Nextro has won the Project of the Year - New Zealand award at the Axis Communications Oceania Partner Awards 2026, recognising work for a critical infrastructure client in New Zealand.

The Auckland-based security integrator received the award for delivering a physical and electronic security project built on Axis and Genetec platforms. The work involved the design, integration and deployment of a security system for a critical infrastructure operator.

Axis presented the award at its annual partner summit on the Gold Coast in Australia. The awards recognised partner and distributor achievements across the Oceania region during 2025.

For Nextro, the recognition extends a run of Axis awards in recent years. In 2024, it received Fastest Growing Partner of the Year - New Zealand and Partner of the Year for the Transportation category - New Zealand.

The business operates in New Zealand and Australia, providing security integration as well as managed network and security services. Its customer base includes organisations in critical infrastructure, transportation, logistics, retail and hospitality.

The project also highlights the close relationship between technology vendors and systems integrators in the regional security market. Nextro is also Genetec's top partner in New Zealand, and the project combined products from both Axis and Genetec.

Martyn Levy, Managing Director of Nextro, commented on the result.

"Winning the Project of the Year for New Zealand is a tremendous honour and reflects the capability and dedication of the Nextro team," Levy said. "This award is a testament to the trust our clients place in us to deliver complex, mission-critical security projects. We are proud to be recognised by Axis Communications for the outcomes we have achieved together for New Zealand's critical infrastructure organisations."

Partner recognition

Axis said the awards were designed to highlight performance among its channel partners and distributors in the region. This year's programme focused on innovation, collaboration, resilience and customer delivery.

Wai King Wong, Regional Director Oceania at Axis Communications, also commented on the awards.

"We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our partners across Oceania," Wong said. "This year's summit was centred around the theme 'Unite & Ignite for Growth,' and these award winners truly represent what that means in action - innovation, collaboration, resilience and a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for customers across our region. The strength of our partner ecosystem continues to be one of our greatest advantages."

Nextro provides a range of physical security systems, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, intercoms and vehicle-related security tools.
