Optic Security Group bags double win at 2024 New Zealand OSPAs
Tue, 9th Apr 2024

Optic Security Group, an Australasian security integrator, celebrated a double win at the 2024 New Zealand Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs), as announced at the Gala Awards dinner in Auckland last week.

Isaac Taingahue triumphed in the Outstanding Contract Security Manager/Director category, while Lee Ashton bagged the accolade for the Outstanding Security Consultant. Particularly notable was Ashton's achievement, as it marked his second consecutive win in the same category, underlining a persistent track record of delivering on his commitment to his clients over the past year and a half.

The firm also received recognition as a finalist in two categories: Outstanding Female Security Professional (Vianna Sue) and Outstanding Security Integrator/Installer (Optic's Retail Crime Prevention Programme - RCPP Team).

Speaking about the achievement, Nik Boeinghoff, New Zealand General Manager of Optic Security Group, stated, "It was a fantastic achievement by the team, and most definitely well deserved. Congratulations also to all the other winners and finalists. It was a truly great evening celebrating and acknowledging the successes of our industry."

The testimonials received in favour of Isaac Taingahue's nomination for his award further consolidate the trust his long-term customers in the capital have placed in him and his team. Lee Ashton's nomination, on the other hand, underlines his strength in delivering security risk and system design consultancy services to a diverse bunch of nationally significant clientele in critical infrastructure sectors.

Vianna Sue, an administrator based in Auckland, has been instrumental in maintaining the company's innovative edge through her technical knowledge, commitment, and innovative ideas. In 2023, she was recognised for her achievements. She was shortlisted as a Finalist in the New Zealand Security Association's New Zealand Security Awards in the Administrator of the Year category.

Optic’s RCPP team was pivotal in enhancing security measures in retail businesses targeted by ram raids or aggravated robberies. Nik Boeinghoff led this team to disrupt the strategies of organised retail crime groups across New Zealand.

The OSPAs have also recognised Optic Security Group's consistent performance in the past. In its three years of existence in New Zealand, the OSPAs have awarded the firm three times. Apart from Lee Ashton's 2023 win, 2022 saw Pete Mason, then Operations Manager, receive the award for Outstanding Contract Security Manager/Director. Additionally, Nicholas Dynon, Enterprise Security Risk Manager, was honoured with an award for Lifetime Achievement.

The 2024 OSPAs award gala dinner took place on 05 April at the Ellerslie Event Centre in Auckland. Optic Security Group extends its hearty congratulations to all nominees, finalists, and winners of various categories.
