PDQ adds ticketing integrations & Mac vulnerability tools

PDQ has introduced new ticketing integrations, macOS vulnerability management, and new application programming interfaces for its IT management platform, broadening support for mixed Windows and macOS environments.

The additions include integrations with Zendesk, ServiceNow, and Halo, extending PDQ's existing connections with Jira, Freshservice, and Freshdesk. The new links let technicians see a requester's device information inside a support ticket and carry out common actions without moving to another tool.

Authorised technicians can deploy available software packages, open a device's details in PDQ, and launch a remote desktop session from within a ticket. The goal is to reduce time spent on manual device lookups and switching between systems during support work.

These ticketing integrations are available to PDQ Premium customers. PDQ serves more than 33,000 customers and sells endpoint management tools for Windows and macOS devices.

Support workflow

Ticketing systems often sit at the centre of IT service desks, while device management and security information is held elsewhere. PDQ's latest release aims to bring endpoint data and actions into the same workflow used by support teams.

"IT teams lose valuable time when the information they need is spread across ticketing, endpoint management, and security tools," said Mark Littlefield, Vice President of Product at PDQ.

"These updates bring device context and action closer to where work is already happening, while giving teams a more consistent way to manage vulnerabilities across Windows and macOS," Littlefield said.

Mac expansion

PDQ has also extended its vulnerability management workflow to macOS devices. IT teams can now view and prioritise vulnerabilities affecting both Windows and Mac fleets from a single interface.

Vulnerability views now show devices running both operating systems, while common vulnerabilities and exposures details indicate whether an issue affects Windows, macOS, or both. Administrators can investigate vulnerable software, review affected devices, and deploy available fixes using the same workflow already used for Windows machines.

Where a supported macOS package is available in PDQ's package library, teams can use the platform's remediation recommendations and deployment workflows to address vulnerable third-party applications. A single deployment can remediate supported applications across both Windows and macOS devices.

Existing controls, including automation, role-based access controls, audit logs, and reporting, now also apply to macOS devices. That brings Mac support closer to the operational model already offered for Windows environments.

API access

The release also adds application programming interfaces for custom fields, vulnerability data, and deployment status information. These interfaces are designed to let customers move endpoint and risk data into other operational systems and automated workflows.

The Custom Fields API allows external systems to update or retrieve device metadata stored in PDQ. Teams can use it to synchronise information such as device ownership, business context, email addresses, and asset information from configuration management databases, asset platforms, directories, and internal systems.

With the Vulnerabilities API, customers can retrieve vulnerability data for use in reporting, ticketing, compliance, security, and automation processes. The Deployment Status API gives external systems access to deployment outcomes, including success and failure information, for reporting or follow-up actions.

All three interfaces will also be available through PDQ's Zapier integration, giving customers another way to connect workflows without building integrations themselves.

Other changes

Alongside the larger additions, PDQ has made a series of smaller platform changes. These include a macOS processes tab for viewing running processes on individual Mac devices, bulk vulnerability ignoring, group-scoped vulnerability reports, a customisable lookback window for dashboard views, and CSV-based group creation.

These changes are aimed at routine administration and reporting tasks, particularly in organisations managing larger device estates or dividing reporting by department, customer, or business unit.

Founded in 2001 and based in Salt Lake City, PDQ sells software for patching, software deployment, remote support, and vulnerability management. The latest release ties together support desk work, remediation activity, and endpoint reporting in a broader push to unify day-to-day IT operations across Windows and macOS.

Administrators can now limit vulnerability reports to selected device groups, making it easier to share relevant findings with specific teams, departments, customers, or business units.
