Samsung tackles printer market

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Samsung Electronics New Zealand has announced its new printer range that's powered by Android and targeted to business users.

The new range consists of six multi-function device (MFD) printer models that are now available in the New Zealand market.

Samsung says the design for the Smart MultiXpress Printer series came from a need to bring printing solutions in-line with other business devices such as smartphones and tablets.

"Users should be able to customise their printers because every office is different and making them as easy to use as our smartphones.

"That is the thinking behind Samsung's world first printers with an Android-based interface – bringing great user experiences for printers as well," says Verdon Kelliher, Samsung NZ enterprise director.

"The paradigm of the printing market is now shifting into the new era of enterprise mobility.

"Digital convergence, digitisation, mobile/cloud collaboration and security will be the next innovations in the printing market." says Kelliher.

"Samsung's new A3 line-up is driven by our cutting-edge technologies that deliver ultra-fast speed, professional-quality output and an intuitive Android based tablet user interface.

"All the traditional key buying factors are met with affordability, reliable operation and genuine Samsung toners.

"Samsung Business is committed to driving productivity via Samsung's smart office experience which we believe will revolutionise the way IT administrators and New Zealand enterprises use and manage their printers," he says.

The Samsung Smart MultiXpress series of MFDs each feature a 10.1-inch full touchscreen panel where users can search and print from web browsers, emails, maps, images and other types of content.

The printers are equipped with Samsung's Smart UX Centre, which is used for Samsung Galaxy line of smartphones and tablets.

As well as having an Android OS, all Smart MultiXpress series MFDs are compatible with Samsung's XOA (eXtensible Open Architecture) printing solution platform, and can be customised to meet specialised business requirements.

The new MFDs have also been upgraded to NFC Pro.

The Smart MultiXpress series MFDs are available through selected Samsung partners and comprise six new models including the X4300 series of A3 Colour MFDs and K4350 series of A3 Monochrome MFDs.
