Energy management and automation company Schneider Electric has announced the appointment of Joseph Vijay as general manager, channel - alliances for its IT Division in the Pacific region (APAC), representing the company's APC brand.

Vijay has just under 20 years' experience in the IT services industry and has worked with both start-up organisations and large global enterprises across APAC.

He has held leadership roles in sales, solutions, channel alliances and commercial strategy with a balanced exposure to the channel and end-user communities.

Prior to joining Schneider Electric, Vijay was the commercial director for NTT COM ICT Solutions in Australia.

In this role, he was responsible for leading high-value contract negotiations and managing risk and governance in the region.

Schneider Electric vice president for IT division and strategic segments Joe Craparotta explains that Vijay's appointment was part of their overarching strategy.

“Both our IT and Electric Distribution channels are extremely important to us at APC by Schneider Electric, and this is reflected in the strong relationships we have built with our partners. We will continue to invest heavily to ensure we are constantly supporting our partners with high-value solutions to complement their offerings,” Craparotta says.

“I am confident Joseph will excel in this role helping our partners across the Pacific with programs and initiatives that drive partner profitability and overall business growth. IT partners can leverage the increasing IoT-driven demands on edge computing to capture revenue opportunities with both on-premise and off-premise infrastructure.

On his appointment, Vijay says, “The ICT sector is becoming more important than ever in enabling our digital economy, with the workforce expected to grow by 100,000 in the next five years.

“Now, more than ever, the channel needs to ensure we are meeting the demands and needs of our customers in this rapidly growing and evolving market.

Vijay's goal for the next six to 12 months is to optimise APC by Schneider Electric's 'go-to-market' strategy, ensuring its channel and alliances partners are successful through providing all necessary support and resources.

“In order to stay competitive, channel companies need to upskill our workforces, differentiate our offerings, and focus on growing key relationships to maximise profitability. My aim is to drive APC by Schneider Electric's partner-centric channel strategy to align with this rapidly growing and increasingly vital market,” Vijay adds.
