ServiceNow & Rimini Street partner for ERP modernisation
ServiceNow and Rimini Street have announced a new partnership to offer a modernisation and artificial intelligence (AI) solution for existing ERP systems by SAP, Oracle, Infor, and Microsoft without requiring costly upgrades.
The newly introduced solution provides a "Transformation without Disruption" approach by integrating ServiceNow's AI platform with Rimini Street's enterprise software support. This strategy aims to eliminate the expenses associated with mandatory software upgrades or platform migrations, enabling businesses to allocate resources to innovate and grow digitally.
This collaboration combines the architecture and data model of ServiceNow with Rimini Street's established software support systems, promoting customer innovation in various enterprise areas, including procurement, finance, supply chain, human resources, customer service, and IT.
Bill McDermott, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at ServiceNow, stated, "Twentieth century systems have created a mess of complexity that hinders 21st century innovation. ServiceNow's partnership with Rimini Street gives customers a more unified, intelligent platform to maximise their existing software investments, for faster paths to transformation. Together, we are enabling a brighter future where technology unlocks unprecedented potential."
Similarly, Seth Ravin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Rimini Street, highlighted the collaboration's potential benefits by saying, "We are excited to bring organisations this new enterprise software model that enables maximised ROI on their current enterprise software investments, integrates disconnected and siloed landscapes of enterprise software and frees up funding for innovation. This new partnership truly brings together the best of ServiceNow innovation and Rimini Street enterprise software support capabilities to solve this common – but complex – IT challenge."
Gartner research suggests that ERP leaders should pursue automated business strategies that challenge traditional and static ERP architectures. The partnership between ServiceNow and Rimini Street responds to this guidance by presenting a solution that avoids the "rip and replace" or "lift and shift" approaches which have constrained innovation due to their respective costs and limitations.
The partnership is geared towards delivering significant savings swiftly, resulting in enhanced user experiences and AI-powered productivity improvements. This approach seeks to generate noticeable impacts within weeks to months, in contrast to the previous methods that took years.
Rimini Street supports this initiative by providing its extensive services, such as maintaining and optimising current enterprise software without necessitating upgrades or migrations for a minimum span of 15 years. This support includes alleviating IT departments from routine software operation tasks to focus on delivering enhanced innovation and value.
R "Ray" Wang, Principal Analyst at Constellation Research, emphasised the importance of this venture, noting, "It is imperative that enterprises accelerate AI innovation, digital transformation, and workflow automation without being slowed by the complexity and cost burden of upgrading or migrating existing enterprise software. Customers seek a comprehensive, all-in-one optimisation and innovation solution that can accelerate and improve productivity, increase profitability, and enhance competitive advantage."
