FYI, this story is more than a year old

Silver Peak has tapped Graham Schultz to head up its ANZ business as the vendor seeks to ramp up its growth locally.

Schultz, who takes on the role of sales director for Australia and New Zealand, will be a familiar face to many, having led Brocade across ANZ for 12 years until 2012.

Most recently he was sales director and Australia and New Zealand country manager for Tintri Storage. Prior to that he was enterprise and commercial sales manager for VMware.

Schultz' appointment follows the departure of Anthony Sarkis in March after just six months as Silver Peak's ANZ sales director. Sarkis is now with VMware.

Silver Peak has been pushing software defined WAN as the ‘MPLS killer' which will change networking dramatically and bring huge potential for resellers and customers alike.

IDC is forecasting the market for SD-WAN technologies to hit US$6 billion by 2020.

“[We] are confident that our Australian/New Zealand team will make an immediate impact on regional sales,” says Chris Helfer, Silver Peak senior vice president, worldwide sales.

Schultz says now is an exciting time to join the broadband and hybrid WAN solution vendor.

“Its unrivalled performance, visibility and security, as well as potential to reduce costs by up to 90%, gives us an outstanding foundation for growth and expansion in Australia and New Zealand,” Schultz says.

He says the company is the only vendor offering a complete SD-WAN solution that ‘simply and intelligently' combines any combination of connectivity types into high-performance virtual WANs to deliver an ‘unmatched' user experience, edge to edge.

Schultz is charged with accelerating growth and customer adoption of the vendor's SD-Wan solutions.
