Snowflake & Anthropic partner for USD $200m Claude AI deal
Snowflake and Anthropic have signed a partnership valued at USD $200 million to integrate Claude-powered artificial intelligence agents within enterprise data environments. The deal aims to enable organisations to conduct multi-step analysis across sensitive financial, operational and customer data by combining Anthropic's reasoning models with Snowflake's governed data platform.
Enterprise focus
More than 12,600 Snowflake customers worldwide will be able to access Anthropic's Claude models directly through the Snowflake platform. The collaboration is positioned to serve highly regulated sectors such as financial services, healthcare and life sciences, where requirements for security and compliance often slow down AI adoption.
The agents are designed to interpret complex business data and track their reasoning process, improving transparency in how conclusions are reached. Customers can move projects from pilot phases to deployment with a framework for governance, according to both companies.
Product integration
Anthropic's Claude models will be embedded in Snowflake Cortex AI, including the Snowflake Intelligence agent. This enables business users to query all types of structured and unstructured data using natural language prompts. Users can combine disparate data formats-such as text, images or traditional SQL tables-within a single environment, receiving insights with detailed reasoning rather than simple answers.
Snowflake is also deploying Claude internally for engineering productivity and sales operations. Its sales teams use the technology to centralise organisational data and accelerate deal cycles.
Industry applications
The joint technology provides tools for customers to develop tailored data agents. In regulated industries, these agents can synthesise market and compliance data, personalising recommendations within governed environments. Features include end-to-end governance and AI controls, designed to address the security concerns of regulated clients.
A Snowflake customer in financial services, for example, can use Claude-powered agents to merge a client's portfolio data with the latest market movements and regulatory requirements, without moving data outside the secured platform.
Market approach
The expanded partnership will include a joint global go-to-market initiative. Snowflake and Anthropic intend to promote the deployment of advanced AI agents across enterprise domains. The companies state that customers are already processing trillions of Claude tokens per month within the Snowflake Cortex AI ecosystem.
