Softsource acquires Network Edge to expand NZ ICT services

Thu, 6th Nov 2025

Softsource has confirmed the acquisition of specialist provider Network Edge, expanding its presence across the New Zealand ICT market.

The transaction positions Softsource as one of the country's largest privately owned ICT systems integrators, enhancing its range of services and establishing a footprint across all major metropolitan centres. The acquisition, which became effective at the start of November, is intended to consolidate technical expertise and create what Softsource describes as a "unified, Tier One technology partner" for enterprise and government customers throughout Australasia.

Pablo Garcia-Curtis, Group CEO of Softsource, explained the reasoning behind the company's latest move. "This isn't coincidence. We have a deliberate strategy to standardise the complexity of IT for our customers," he said.

"With Network Edge, we are closing the loop. Our customers now have a single, trusted partner spanning the entire technology stack, from the device in their hand to the cloud, and now, crucially, to the network edge. It reinforces our commitment to market leadership and New Zealand growth."

Network Edge, founded by Vaughan Peters in 1994, brings over three decades of experience in network, Unified Communications, security and edge connectivity, servicing wide-ranging clients across Australasia. The company's specialisation in these sectors is intended to complement and strengthen Softsource's existing competencies.

Peters, reflecting on the process, noted the manner in which the deal was conducted. "For Network Edge, the owners and directors of Softsource have been entirely genuine, like-minded, and easy to work with throughout the sale and purchase process. I strongly believe that adding Network Edge to the Softsource services portfolio will benefit all stakeholders."

This union follows Softsource's acquisition of The Laptop Company exactly one year prior, which added device supply and lifecycle management as a core service offering. With the addition of Network Edge, the combined organisation now offers a comprehensive portfolio including managed services, data centre co-location and operations, cloud platforms, security solutions and large-scale application deployments.

Kyle Peters, Sales and Marketing Manager at Network Edge, highlighted the alignment in organisational values and the advantages to clients. "The culture fit between our organisations is remarkable. Softsource shares our absolute focus on the customer, and by combining our deep network expertise with their robust cloud and security platforms, we can now deliver capacity, scale, and a depth of capability that's highly valuable for our clients," said Peters.

Softsource has stated that Network Edge will retain its current leadership and brand identity as a dedicated division within the larger company. This arrangement is intended to provide continuity of service and support for both existing and new customers.

The company now maintains physical offices in each of New Zealand's major centres, offering support for end-to-end business technology requirements. The expanded service portfolio is available to customers across the country and the broader Australasian region, including enterprises, governments, and the public sector.
