SugarAI has introduced new artificial intelligence tools for sales teams aimed at turning customer and enterprise data into specific sales actions.

The additions include SugarAdvisors and Smart Prompts, Sugar Cube, AI Analytics and Mobile Smart Notes. The tools are designed to help sellers identify account risks and revenue opportunities, understand account context, ask business questions in plain language, and capture notes and images from mobile devices.

The update centres on linking customer relationship management data with enterprise resource planning information. The aim is to help sales staff focus on the most relevant signals from accounts and opportunities rather than sift through a broad set of customer data.

SugarAI is targeting businesses in manufacturing and distribution, where commercial operations are becoming more complex. It cited its own research showing that 96% of manufacturers and distributors say limited precision in sales and customer operations contributes to missed growth opportunities, slower decision-making, customer defection and weaker forecasting.

The company also said sellers and customer account managers now handle an average of 86 accounts, increasing the need for tools that direct attention to the most important actions.

Seller workflow

SugarAdvisors and Smart Prompts alert sellers to issues such as declining or rising customer engagement, inventory or reorder patterns, overdue sales activities, and situations where executive support may be needed. Sugar Cube is an embedded assistant that provides recommendations, explains account and opportunity context, and helps staff prepare for sales activity.

AI Analytics is designed to turn plain-language business questions into charts, summaries, tables and other views, reducing reliance on revenue operations teams for custom reporting. Mobile Smart Notes lets sellers record images, notes and context on a mobile device, then link them automatically to the relevant account, contact or opportunity.

SugarAI said the broader aim is to move CRM systems beyond record-keeping. It argues that many sales teams already have access to large volumes of customer information but struggle to identify which details need immediate attention.

Data focus

The launch is part of the company's "Precision Selling" strategy. SugarAI describes this as narrowing attention from a full customer view to a smaller set of signals that can support a recommended next step.

David Roberts, Chief Executive Officer at SugarAI, said the advantage lies in using data from multiple systems together. "Manufacturers and distributors already have valuable information across CRM and ERP; the advantage comes from connecting it, interpreting it, and putting clear actions in front of sellers. This is where Sugar leads: AI absorbs complexity, protects attention, and turns customer data into measurable growth," Roberts said.

He said companies are struggling to turn growing volumes of data into useful guidance for frontline staff. "Businesses are drowning in data and insights but starving for relevance and recommendations. CRM hasn't lived up to its promise, and ERP hasn't lived up to its full potential," Roberts said. "Surfacing actionable revenue signals in CRM and ERP data enables companies to maximise customer lifetime value."

SugarAI said its software is used by thousands of companies in more than 120 countries. Headquartered in Denver and backed by Accel-KKR, it focuses on organisations with complex, relationship-led sales environments.

The company also sought to distinguish its pricing approach from AI products that charge by token usage. It said the new tools are included within predictable pricing rather than open-ended consumption models.

SugarAI said this approach is intended to help organisations uncover opportunities in their existing customer base while keeping AI spending under tighter control.
