Brenton Smith, Australia New Zealand managing director for Symantec, has vacated his role at the company to pursue other opportunities.
Smith became managing director and vice president, Pacific, for Symantec in July 2012. His role was to oversee the operations of Symantec Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to his role as MD, Smith was vice president for cloud, SMB and channel sales in Asia Pacific - Japan. He previously worked for CA Technologies in various ANZ roles.
Symantec says following Smith's departure, Paul Simos has been appointed as the acting head of enterprise sales for the pacific region.
"Brenton Smith has decided to leave Symantec and pursue other opportunities," the company says.
"Pacific is a key market for Symantec and we remain committed to our customers and partners in this market."
Last year Symantec announced it was splitting the company in two to form two independent, publicly traded companies.
At the time, Michael Brown, Symantec CEO and president, said "it has become clear that winning in both security and information management requires distinct strategies, focused investments and go-to-market innovation.
"Separating Symantec into two, independent publicly traded companies will provide each business the flexibility and focus to drive growth and enhance shareholder value.
