Wed, 28th Feb 2024

Synology, the Taiwan-headquartered NAS solutions stalwart, has announced the launch of its latest product, BeeStation. Available now in the ANZ market, BeeStation aims to offer personal cloud storage to all users, especially those who prioritise ease-of-use and simplicity, the company states. The key appeal of BeeStation lies in its capacity to adapt file management and backups to any lifestyle, whilst ensuring full control over personal information, without any subscription fees.

In a marked shift from their previously tech-enthusiast geared offerings, Synology views BeeStation as a more accessible solution to everyday file management needs. Lewis Sheng, Product Manager at Synology Inc, on explaining this initiative, stated, "For nearly two decades, Synology has been a leader in NAS solutions, offering advanced features for tech enthusiasts and professionals. With BeeStation, we're addressing a different need. BeeStation packs all the file management and backup essentials into a more accessible and simplified hardware and software experience."

The BeeStation arrives with a built-in 4 TB hard drive, offering substantial room for work documents, personal files, photos, and videos. Personal cloud operation can be set up in a matter of minutes by merely scanning a QR code and connecting the necessary cables. As an added advantage, the supporting web, desktop and mobile applications provide a seamless experience for managing and accessing files from all corners, hence mimicking the convenience of popular cloud services.

Having recognised the common necessity for personal and family storage solutions, the BeeStation lends itself to creating individual private storage spaces for all family members. This signifies their commitment to respecting and preserving the privacy of all users, with no requirement of any intricate networking or IT skills.

BeeStation boasts of crucial backup features, extending automatic backups of photos and videos from iOS and Android devices, therefore securing significant memories. Facilitating this is the AI-powered photo organiser that simplifies managing extensive photo libraries with expedited people and object recognition. In addition to this, BeeStation enables backing up files from major cloud services and connected USB drives, hence reaffirming user control and safety over essential personal data.

Effective immediately, the BeeStation is available for purchase from the official Synology website and through its global network of partners and resellers. This latest step by Synology evidences its continuous quest for innovation and adaptation to evolving technologies thereby catering to digital transformations globally.
