Tech Data bringing Aussie AWS visibility SaaS offering to the channel
Distributor Tech Data has inked a deal to launch Australian software-as-a-service offering Stax, designed to provide visibility and insight into AWS, into the partner channel.
Stax is a spinout software company from Aussie technology consultancy Versent. Its SaaS offering, which launched last year, sits on top of AWS' collection of cloud-based services and allows managers to monitor the spending on them, in additional to their compliance with internal risk policies.
Tech Data's Technology Solutions business – previously a division of Avnet – will provide resellers and their end clients with a holistic management layer for AWS, enabling visibility and insight into the cost, compliance and quality of their work in the cloud, the companies say.
Stax says the offering was 'brought to live by three cloud-savvy employees who were frustrated with the uncertainty and lack of visibility surrounding cloud deployments'.
"When customers voiced the same frustrations, it seemed like a good time to take action.
Earlier this month Versent was named Amazon Web Services Consulting Partner of the Year at the fifth annual AWS Partner Summit, held in Sydney.
At the time Versent founder and chief executive Thor Essman noted that the success of Stax had 'far exceeded' Versent's expectations.
Stax has previously been focused on direct sales. The new partnership with Tech Data will increase distribution globally.
