Thales picks Netpoleon as newest distribution partner for ANZ

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Netpoleon will be the newest distribution partner for Thales in Australia and New Zealand, the company revealed in an announcement yesterday.

The partnership will help expand Thales' global footprint within the data security sector, with a particular focus on access management, encryption, key management and data discovery and classification.

Thales regional director of data protection solutions Brian Grant says the collaboration is the latest in a series of moves beginning with the rollout of the company's Accelerate partner programme earlier this year.

“Given the growth of our partner community in Australia and New Zealand, we sought to provide a wider choice in distributors,” says Grant.

“Thales has worked with Netpoleon in other Asia-Pacific locations, so combined with their experienced local cybersecurity team, it was a great fit.

“Netpoleon is a nimble yet experienced distributor that shares our vision for empowering and enabling the partner community, with a focus on delivering the best cybersecurity solutions.

Grant says Netpoleon's cybersecurity focus and innovative technical team adds to its case as a great fit for Thales.

“We can assist with the education and enablement of a wide range of new partners, which will be applying a more effective means of embedding data protection in business processes, instead of the cumbersome and costly infrastructure-centric approach used historically,” says Grant.

Netpoleon regional director for ANZ Paul Lim says: “Thales delivers a vital security solution for channel partners helping customers to embark on a digital transformation journey securely in these challenging times.

“An augmented portfolio in Thales and our past working experience with Brian and his team, will allow our combined organisations to deliver new cutting edge encryption and secure cloud solutions to the ANZ market.

The distribution partnership follows Thales' recent introduction of the CipherTrust Manager tool, which enables users to project and control access to sensitive data. It also allows for the acceleration of digital transformation initiatives, with compliance and privacy obligations always in mind. Its functions also enable the codification of data protection into business processes.

The tool completes Thales' suite of data protection solutions, which stretch across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments.

Grant concludes, “With the emergence of so many multi-party threats and successful attacks across industry and government, it is critically important that we help our partners and customers evolve to reach a point where data protection is no longer a static part of IT infrastructure, but is embedded in the fabric of digital transformation and business processes.
