Tineco has launched the FLOOR ONE S9 Artist Steam Plus in Australia, exclusively through Amazon Australia.

The model joins the company's Artist Series and has a recommended retail price of AUD $1,499. It combines steam cleaning with wet and dry floor care in a single device for households looking to avoid separate vacuuming and mopping.

The launch comes as appliance makers continue adding steam functions and self-cleaning systems to premium floorcare products. Tineco is positioning the new model around chemical-free cleaning, longer battery life and lower operating noise.

The FLOOR ONE S9 Artist Steam Plus uses what Tineco describes as 230°C HyperSteam, with steam reaching the floor surface at no less than 110°C. It also includes ReverseScrub Technology, which uses a 14-second reverse brush rotation for targeted stain removal.

Battery life is another key part of the pitch. Tineco says the machine can run for up to 110 minutes in Quiet mode, which it says is enough for whole-house cleaning on a single charge.

For quieter operation, the cleaner includes a SilentDry self-clean mode at 40dB(A) or below as part of its FlashDry self-cleaning process. It also features SmoothDrive Technology for all-directional movement around furniture and corners.

Product features

Other listed functions include an iLoop Smart Sensor that adjusts water and power use based on detected dirt, a DualBlock anti-tangle design intended to reduce hair build-up, and a system that continuously washes the brush roller with fresh water while removing dirty water.

The unit also includes upgraded pouch cells designed to extend battery lifespan, triple-sided edge cleaning for corners and skirting boards, and five cleaning modes: Auto, Max, Steam, Suction and Quiet. The model is sold in a dark grey finish and includes an LCD display.

The wider market for floorcare appliances has become more crowded as manufacturers target consumers willing to pay more for multi-function cleaning devices. Steam-based cleaning has drawn attention from buyers looking to reduce the use of chemical products in homes with children, pets or allergy concerns.

Tineco cited research showing floor cleaning ranks among the least liked household chores in Australia because of the bending, scrubbing and repetitive work involved. It also pointed to rising rates of allergic rhinitis and reports from some asthma sufferers that symptoms worsen after time spent indoors.

Brand position

Euromonitor International has recognised Tineco as the world's largest household wet and dry vacuum cleaner brand by retail sales volume for four consecutive years, according to the company. It also says it has been the top wet and dry floor cleaner brand on Amazon in Australia, the United States, Canada, France, Italy and Japan for three years.

Tineco says its products are used by more than 24 million households and sold in about 30 countries and regions, including Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe and parts of Asia. The group traces its origins to 1998 and moved into smart vacuum products in 2019, it says.

The company also highlighted design and product recognition, including a place in the iF Design Ranking between 2022 and 2026 and awards linked to its wet and dry floor cleaner range. These references form part of a broader attempt by floorcare brands to distinguish premium products in a segment where feature overlap has become common.

Tineco framed the Australian release as part of a push to broaden take-up of steam-based cleaning in the home.

"The FLOOR ONE S9 Artist Steam Plus is about bringing our steam revolution to more Australian homes. With 230°C HyperSteam, ReverseScrub Technology and up to 110 minutes of runtime, our R&D team have gone above and beyond to craft the new FLOOR ONE S9 Artist Steam Plus to suit the cleaning needs of modern households. This new model offers innovative features for a chemical-free, deep clean that fits around their lifestyle - whether that may be a quick clean before guests arrive or a quiet clean once the kids are in bed," Tineco said.
