FYI, this story is more than a year old

Veeam and Nutanix have expanded their longstanding partnership in a deal the vendors say will provide resellers with a combined, highly differentiated solution that will increase partner sales opportunities.

The new deal sees Veeam become the premier availability solution for Nutanix virtualised environments, with Veeam also adding support of Nutanix AHV into its flagship Availability Suite.

The companies say that will allow joint customers to benefit from an enterprise-class availability solution, helping to accelerate enterprises' digital transformation strategies.

Peter McKay, Veeam co-chief executive and president, says “As we continue to make greater inroads in they hybrid cloud segment, we understand that our customers now require solutions that span both their on-premises and cloud IT environments.

“We are excited to be the premier availability solution for supported Nutanix virtualised environments.

Eric Sheppard, IDC research director, says Veeam's support for Nutanix AHV brings a proven availability platform to the growing hyperconverged infrastructure market – a market IDC has forecast will be worth US$7.5 billion by 2021 as it gains traction within enterprises.

“Veeam's support for Nutanix AHV brings a proven availability platform to this growing market at a time when hyperconverged solutions are increasingly deployed to support mission critical business applications, and thus in need of just such a platform,” Sheppard says.

The expanded partnership will also see Veeam become a strategic technology partner within Nutanix' Elevate Alliance Partner Program and be a featured app in the new Nutanix Marketplace.
