Veeam targets endpoint backup for MSPs with LabTech offering

13 Jun 16

Veeam has extended its partnership with ConnectWise in a deal which will see Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech available to Kiwi and Australian managed service providers.

Peter Bender, Veeam ANZ head of channel and alliances, says the extended partnership – the two companies previously collaborated on Veeam Backup and Replication Plug-in for LabTech – helps address the issue of endpoint protection.

“Mobile working is a major component of the always-on enterprise and we carry a huge amount of data in our laptops so the cost to business of losing one can be significant, yet endpoint protection is often overlooked,” Bender says.

“Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech was created to directly address this problem and gives MSPs the ability to offer a complete solution with high speed, low cost remote management and recovery of endpoints.”

LabTech is an IT management platform which the company bills as ‘created by system administrators for system administrators to automate IT services and eliminate inefficiencies’.

Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech was released in North America last year, and

Bender says there has been ‘great demand’ from local MSPs for the offering.

“The principle benefit of Veeam Enpoint Backup for LabTech is that it enables managed service providers to provide a better service to their customers,” Bender says.

“It is extremely efficient for monitoring and managing remote customer sites and allows MSPs to be as proactive and efficient as possible in improving availability for their customers.”

Veeam says the offering is designed for new and existing users of LabTech who want an endpoint availability solution. It can be combined with Veeam's other offerings to provide a complete solution covering virtual servers and Windows-based desktops, laptops and some physical servers.

Gregg Lalle, ConnectWise vice president of international sales and strategy, says the ability for an MSP to provide as much attention to a customer’s endpoints as it would the data centre ‘will deliver true competitive advantage’.

“That’s what Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech provides and we’re delighted it is now available in the ANZ region.”
