Cloudera appoints new VP for strategic partnerships
Gary Green has been appointed as the vice president for strategic partnerships at Cloudera.
Reporting into Scott Aronson, chief revenue officer at Cloudera, Green will oversee the strategic direction of the company's global partnership programme and work closely with Cloudera's network to uncover more opportunities for the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) within enterprises.
Before joining Cloudera, Green was CRO at Packet where he was responsible for all of the company's go-to-market strategy, planning and sales operations to increase revenue growth. He has also held senior sales leadership positions at Puppet and was one of the first 100 employees at VMWare where he established the company's Strategic Partnership programme.
"The marketplace for enterprise data is incredibly dynamic. Now more than ever, enterprises are recognising how data fuels every aspect of their business, yet 55% say that the top barrier to maximising data for strategic gain is a lack of analytical expertise," Green says.
"The Cloudera Data Platform helps companies derive insights from anywhere their business operates, which provides opportunities for our partner ecosystem," he says.
"Cloudera has a world-class partner network in place to support partners, and I am excited to be here to drive its growth," Green adds.
"We are going to build on this foundation, and invest in our mutual success. In doing so, I believe that, together, we will be able to help businesses across multiple industries and regions drive innovation, and realise their potential through powerful cloud based data analytics."
Cloudera works with more than 3,000 system integrators, consultants, ISVs, and cloud or hardware partners including Accenture, Atos, IBM, Informatica and Microsoft.
"Through the Cloudera Connect programme, partners can innovate faster, grow the machine learning and analytics markets, and build profitable businesses," the company says.
"Enhanced recently, through Cloudera Connect partners gain the resources and expertise to accelerate customer adoption and value with end-to-end solutions based on the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP). CDP delivers the powerful, self-service analytics businesses want across hybrid and multi-cloud environments with the granular security and governance policies that IT leaders demand."
"We've seen an incredible response from our partner community to CDP and we believe that, together, we have the opportunity to support enterprises in addressing some of the most pressing data challenges they face in achieving growth, and improving and protecting their businesses," says Scott Aronson, chief revenue officer, Cloudera.
"Gary's track record speaks for itself. He is a leader of significant calibre that has consistently grown businesses through collaboration. We are delighted that he has joined us," he says.
