IDC names leading IoT consulting and systems integration service providers
A new report from IDC has shown the spotlight on leading Internet of Things consulting and systems integration service providers, with the likes of Accenture, Cognizant, and IBM amongst the leaders.
IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Internet of Things Consulting and Systems Integration Services 2016 Vendor Analysis evaluated the offerings and prospects of 15 leading IoT organisations, designed to deduce which business characteristics for each firm are conducive to long and short-term success.
The IDC MarketScape methodology positioned Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, HCL Technologies, IBM, PwC, and Tata Consultancy Services within the Leaders segment.
IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT (information and communications technology) suppliers in a given market.
"When buyers were asked what characteristics were required for an IoT professional services project to be successful at a worldwide level, the number one characteristic was 'ability to achieve desired business outcomes' followed by 'deliver innovation for your solution'," explains Gard Little, research director, Digital Transformation Professional Services, IDC.
"Buyers are telling IT suppliers that IoT success will come from knowing how to deliver business outcomes using innovative thinking," he states.
Little says the IDC MarketScape vendor analysis is based on a comprehensive framework designed to evaluate which business characteristics for each firm are most conducive to long and short-term success.
The organisations included in the analysis are Accenture, Atos, Capgemini, Cognizant, Dell, Deloitte, EY, Fujitsu, HCL Technologies, IBM, Infosys, NTT Data, PwC, Tata Consultancy Services, and Tech Mahindra.
