Jamf & Microsoft form five-year cloud & AI partnership

Thu, 15th Aug 2024

Jamf and Microsoft have announced a new partnership, wherein Jamf has entered the Microsoft ISV Partner Programme and agreed to a five-year collaboration.

The agreement aims to enhance Jamf's cloud and AI-powered solutions, which will be hosted on Microsoft Azure and made available on the Azure Marketplace by late 2024.

As part of the partnership, Jamf will leverage Azure’s cloud environment to expand the delivery of its solutions, making them accessible to customers utilising Microsoft environments. Jamf Pro, the company’s primary Apple management solution, will be available to new customers through the Azure cloud. This move is expected to provide customers with a unified approach to device management and cybersecurity within their existing Microsoft framework.

Jamf’s Chief Strategy Officer, Henry Patel, commented on the collaboration, stating, “We’re excited to continue our close collaboration with Microsoft to better serve the many organisations that require advanced IT workflows and solutions built on Microsoft’s enterprise cloud platform. By combining our market-leading expertise in Apple endpoint management and security with Microsoft’s cloud platform and AI security capabilities, we are equipping organisations with the tools they need to manage and protect the modern workplace — all while preserving the native Apple technology experience that end users love.”

Priscyla Laham, Vice President, Global Partner Solutions, Americas at Microsoft, elaborated on the partnership's potential, saying, “Microsoft has always been a partner-led platform company. We rely on our partners to help our mutual customers adapt and thrive in this era of AI Transformation. Jamf’s decision to build on Microsoft Azure highlights the robustness of our platform in supporting advanced endpoint solutions across various industries and countries, and underscores the extensive reach and trust of our cloud services. We are excited to welcome Jamf as a Microsoft partner. Together, we will empower organisations to stay ahead of threats, managing and protecting their users and data across endpoints and the cloud, while reaching a broader set of customers around the world.”

The relationship between Jamf and Microsoft began in 2017, focusing on supporting Apple devices within organisations that rely on Microsoft platforms. Jamf was the first to introduce Conditional Access for macOS, which improved identity security for shared customers. This longstanding strategic partnership has led to various integrations between Jamf and Microsoft enterprise tools, including Entra ID, Sentinel, Defender, PowerBI, and Copilot for Security. These integrations aim to enhance device management, identity management, and endpoint security.

One notable milestone came in 2023 when Jamf joined the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA), which further solidified its collaboration on security solutions. The membership enabled deeper cooperation on threat detection and response among Jamf, Microsoft, and other MISA members. In 2024, Jamf became a participant in the Microsoft Copilot for Security private partner preview, leading to the availability of Jamf's plugin for Microsoft Copilot for Security. This plugin aims to facilitate more effective threat response and improved collaboration between IT and security teams.

The collaboration between Jamf and Microsoft is expected to offer significant benefits to joint customers by combining Jamf’s expertise in Apple device management and security with Microsoft Azure’s scalable cloud services. This strategic alliance aims to address the growing need for comprehensive IT solutions that support both Apple and Microsoft platforms within diverse organisational environments.
