Palo Alto Networks leads attack surface management in Forrester Wave
Palo Alto Networks has been named a leader in The Forrester Wave: Attack Surface Management Solutions, Q3 2024.
The report, which evaluated eleven vendors, recognised Palo Alto Networks' Cortex Xpanse with top scores in the strategy category, including the highest possible marks in the vision, innovation, and roadmap criteria.
Gonen Fink, SVP Products, Cortex and Prisma Cloud, Palo Alto Networks, stated, "Palo Alto Networks delivers an unrivaled platform for SOC transformation, built on truly unified data and powered by AI and automation. As a pioneer of attack surface management, we're committed to helping customers proactively reduce risk across their entire attack surface with our leading platform for modern security operations."
The report highlighted the pressing challenges many organisations face in managing their attack surfaces. Notably, over 23% of internet-connected exposures affect critical IT and security infrastructure. Palo Alto Networks' Cortex Xpanse aims to address this issue by scanning over 500 billion internet-facing assets daily. This comprehensive scanning capability allows organisations to discover 30-40% more assets in their environment than they were previously aware of, enabling them to find and automatically fix exposures across their entire attack surface.
Fink elaborated on the importance of comprehensive visibility in managing and protecting organisational assets. "We remain at the forefront of the market, recognising the essential need for organisations to have comprehensive visibility to effectively manage and protect their increasing number of assets," he said.
The Forrester Wave report is the latest recognition for Palo Alto Networks. Earlier in the year, the company was also named a leader in The Forrester Wave: Extended Detection and Response (XDR) Platforms, Q2 2024, and The Forrester Wave: Cybersecurity Incident Response Services, Q2 2024. These accolades reflect the company's strong presence and innovative approach in the security operations market.
In its evaluation, Forrester assessed vendors across three categories: current offering, strategy, and market presence. Palo Alto Networks' strategy, supported by its AI-powered Cortex platform, stood out for its unified data approach and automation capabilities, which are integral to modern security operations centre (SOC) transformation.
The company's AI-driven solutions are designed to address the growing complexity of cybersecurity threats by providing precise threat detection and swift response, thereby minimising false positives and enhancing overall security effectiveness. By integrating diverse security solutions into a unified, scalable platform, Palo Alto Networks aims to streamline security management and provide comprehensive protection.
The recognition from Forrester comes at a time when cybersecurity challenges are intensifying. Organisations are increasingly reliant on digital infrastructure, making robust security measures more crucial than ever. Palo Alto Networks' leadership in this space highlights its commitment to innovation and its role in helping organisations navigate these challenges effectively.
