Steve McLean leaves YooBee’s top job
It’s understood that the general manager of YooBee, one of New Zealand’s largest Apple retailers, has left his post.
That man is Steve McLean, who joined YooBee’s parent company Renaissance in 2009 - slightly before Richard Webb, the company’s now infamous ex-CEO, joined the business.
McLean has held various roles with the company, most notably a number of human resources related jobs for the wider Renaissance Group before the more recent GM roles with the company’s retail business unit YooBee.
During McLean’s time in these human resources roles, the company experienced significant staff turnover, with many examples of new hires staying just days or weeks.
McLean has also been named in a number of Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court decisions, one example of which involved an order for the company to make payments totaling over $50,000.
It’s not immediately clear who will officially take over the position, although the name of the companies experienced CIO Doug Casement was suggested by two sources.
