Westcon-Comstor gains exclusive rights to Fortanix in New Zealand

Wed, 26th Nov 2025

Westcon-Comstor, a global technology provider and specialist distributor, has announced an exclusive New Zealand distribution deal with Fortanix, a specialist in data-first security and Confidential Computing solutions.

According to Westcon-Comstor, the new partnership marks a significant step forward in empowering New Zealand enterprises to protect sensitive data across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments, while simplifying compliance and governance. As organisations increasingly adopt complex multi-cloud strategies, the ability to maintain full control of data wherever it resides has become a central priority for security leaders. The deal positions Fortanix's solutions as a key enabler of this shift, offering a modern approach to managing cryptographic keys, securing workloads, and protecting information throughout its lifecycle.

By combining Fortanix's industry-leading Data Security Manager (DSM) platform and Westcon-Comstor's extensive partner network, organisations gain unified capabilities for key management, encryption, tokenisation and Confidential Computing, the company says. These features are becoming essential across regulated industries - including finance, healthcare, government and critical infrastructure - where compliance obligations are intensifying and cyberattacks continue to grow in sophistication.

These solutions ensure data remains secure at rest, in transit, and in use – addressing the growing challenges of multi-cloud complexity, regulatory compliance and insider threats. As quantum computing continues to advance, the joint offering will also help organisations mitigate future risks by enabling strategies that safeguard sensitive data against next-generation threats. The ability to prepare for a "post-quantum" security landscape is emerging as a key concern for many organisations, and the Fortanix platform is designed with long-term cryptographic resilience in mind.

"This collaboration reinforces our commitment to enabling partners and helping local customers manage security challenges, reduce complexity and accelerate innovation," said Dave Rosenberg, Managing Director at Westcon-Comstor New Zealand.

"By bringing Fortanix's cutting-edge data security solutions to market, we're enabling organisations to embrace digital transformation securely and with confidence," he said.

According to Rosenberg, as the sole distributor of Fortanix in New Zealand, Westcon-Comstor is uniquely positioned to support partner success by delivering differentiated solutions that meet the evolving needs of regulated industries. The joint offering is compliance-ready, scalable and future-proof, helping partners unlock new revenue streams while ensuring their customers' data is protected throughout its lifecycle, he said.

"As digital transformation continues to accelerate across New Zealand, Westcon-Comstor is committed to equipping partners and customers with the tools and technologies they need to thrive in a data-driven world.

"Backed by decades of industry expertise, deep local knowledge, and a proven track record in enabling secure innovation, Westcon-Comstor is poised to drive meaningful growth and transformation for enterprises nationwide."
